DiversiTech’s State of Black Tech Event

THE STATE OF BLACK TECH was held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 ~Busboys and Poets, Hyattsville (MD)

I attended this event and the facility was magnificent. The meeting was held in a very nice restaurant  in a spacious and comfortable room, complete with a stage. Much of the discussion concerned the obstacles facing minorities entering the tech field. There was also an exchange of ideas about steps that could be taken to develop strategies to overcome common barriers. Overall, it was uplifting to see an organized dialogue regarding diversity in technology.

The State of Black Tech aims to be the catalyst for a much needed local discussion on the status of black technologists within the greater technology entrepreneur and innovation space.

So, if you assume Facebook has 750 million registered users, that’s about 1.2 hours for May 2011 collectively for each.

That’s a lot of Facebooking.

When a Facebook Shared Story Shows the Wrong Description

Have you ever found a story and shared it on Facebook but noticed that the description contained information that was not accurate or did not match the original story?

This is a quick tip to resolve that issue courtesy of bloggersentral.com. Apparently Facebook stores the original share for up to 24 hours. To resolve the issue, simply type the web address of the blog containing the story into the field at this url http://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/ , after which time you should be able to share the same article again and the correct description should show.
