Considering the countless millions of Michael Jackson fans out there, I know that this subject will touch a few raw nerves, but I am going to raise it anyway.
Since MJ’s unfortunate death, we have seen more of his children than ever before. And I will bet my collection of Jackson 5 albums that I am not the only person who – whenever I see Paris, Prince (Michael, Jr.) and Blanket on TV – wonder whose children are they? Not only do the three of them look nothing like MJ, the siblings don’t even resemble each other.
When I told a friend that I was writing a post about MJ’s children, her immediate response was, “Leave them alone. They are wonderful, healthy children. When the children are older, they may begin asking themselves, ‘Who are my biological parents? How did I get here?’ In the meantime, people should just leave them alone.” Spoken like a true Jackson fan. Well, I too am a fan, but one with a very inquiring mind.
According to whomever you choose to believe, MJ’s children were born of more than one surrogate mother and Jackson was the sperm donor. There is another assertion that Debbie Rowe is the surrogate mother of the two older children who were conceived in vitro and were born during the nearly three years that Rowe and Jackson were married, while Blanket came later from a different surrogate. TMZ claims that neither Rowe’s egg nor MJ’s sperm created the children. And, reportedly Debbie Rowe herself made the statement that they are not Michael’s children. If all three children were artificially inseminated, in vitro, by a third party egg and sperm donor and Michael did not adopt them, then technically they are not his children. Confused by all of the supposition? Who isn’t?
If it is true that MJ was not the sperm donor for any of his children then, who is – or are – the biological babies’ daddies? Excluding those people who are too young to remember Jackson before he changed his skin color, does anyone honestly believe that there is a smidgen of Jackson’s DNA in his daughter and sons? Some people say that Paris resembles Debbie Rowe, but Prince doesn’t look like Rowe or Jackson. And Blanket, a beautiful child, doesn’t look like his anyone in that family.
Even if it was public knowledge that all three children were adopted, that would be more believable than the tale being perpetuated, because a blind man can see that those are not MJ’s biological children. Raise your hand if you believe that Jackson fathered – by any method – a single one of them. Don’t be shy, go ahead, raise your hand. This is just between us cynics.
For all intents and purposes, the Jackson family embraces the trio as MJ’s children – as they should. Does Jackson’s mother or any of his siblings know the true identity of his children’s parents or did Jackson carry his secret to the grave? I believe that someone will discover a cure for cancer, before the public learns the truth about those children.
We all know what happens as children grow older and begin to wonder how they came to be. Many adoptees search for their biological parents and even some surrogates have been known to seek answers to unanswered questions about who they really are. When you have time read the following link written by a young man (it is a lengthy and heartbreaking article) who identifies himself as son of a surrogate. I wonder if eventually at least one of Jackson’s children will feel as he does.
An article published by The Center for Reproductive Society has this to say about that. “As children grow, they become curious about who they are and where they came from. This is true for all children, not just those who were born using third party reproduction. Every child wants to know about their birth story and their past. And every child, every one of us, is a combination of our genes and our family and community environment. It helps to have as much information as possible in order to best understand who we are.”
